Abstract

|
The ministry for health, welfare and family affairs(MIHWF) launched long term care insurance for senior citizens(LTC) on 1st July, 2008. LTC is designed to cover population aging and social maintenance costs for the elderly patients. Also, LTC program has been institutionalized to improve the elderly people’s life quality and reduce the cost for family’s
supporting. This paper makes an inspection of the decision of LTC benefit applications, LTC facilities, the management of benefit levels and proposes the directions in LTC sustainability.
